SharkBite EvoPEX Female Connectors combine evolutionary push-to-connect technology with a brass FNPT adapter on the opposite end. The push-to-connect end is designed for PEX only and can be installed with no solder, glue, unions or tools required. It’s as simple as applying Teflon tape to the threads and inserting PEX pipe into the fitting deep enough to be sealed by our specially-formulated O-ring. Once inserted, the stainless steel teeth bite down and grip the pipe. A green indicator ring will become fully visible in four slots around the fitting to visually display that the permanent inner-diameter connection is secure. This quick-connect fitting is designed to make PEX-to-NPT connections in potable water and radiant heating (including underground or behind-the-wall) applications with no access panels required. Fittings are rated to 80 psi @ 200°F, 100 psi @ 180°F, and 160 psi @ 73.4°F.
