This 6 inch lead free MasterSeries® reduced pressure detector backflow preventer assembly is designed to prevent the reverse flow of fire protection substances and water of non-potable quality from being pumped or siphoned into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure in accordance with national plumbing codes and water authority requirements. It is ideal for protection in continuous pressure piping applications and at cross-connections identified as health hazards and from other contaminants found at the service line entrance. It is used primarily on fire sprinkler and standpipe systems requiring detection of unauthorized water use. This assembly with domestic outside stem and yoke shutoff valves consists of a ductile iron body, replaceable stainless steel check seats, gallons per minute metered bypass, and ball valve test cocks. The ductile iron body is fused with ArmorTek™ coating technology to resist corrosion due to microbial induced corrosion (MIC) or exposed metal substrate. Improved with a stainless-steel relief valve seat, these rugged assemblies yield greater dependability and extended valve life.
